What the work is
Your land already holds most of the answers. The soil tells you what will thrive. The sun tells you where to plant. The trees you inherited set the frame. The design begins by reading those, then adding what belongs beside them.
Every project I take on is native-first, pollinator-supportive, and built to grow more beautiful with time, not less.
Services
Meadow design
For properties with open ground, from a quarter-acre to hundreds of acres. Native seed mixes selected for your soil and zip code. Establishment timelines you can actually follow. Bloom calendars that give you color from April through October.
Kitchen garden design
Raised beds, in-ground beds, or a mix. Sized for how you cook, not how the catalog looks. Companion planting, succession planning, and a first-year plant list. Ready for you to plant, or for a landscape crew to install.
Pollinator plantings
Native forbs, grasses, and shrubs that feed bees, butterflies, and birds across the full season. Suitable as standalone plantings or woven into an existing garden. Designed with a specific pollinator or your local ecosystem in mind.
How we work together

Discovery
A one-hour conversation on site, on video, or on a walk. You show me the property, tell me what you're hoping for, and I ask questions. You leave with a rough sense of what the work would look like and what it would cost.

Site assessment
For in-person work, I visit the property (usually a half-day) and gather what the design needs: soil, sun, drainage, existing plants, sight lines, and how you actually move through the space. For remote work, I use satellite imagery, your photos, and a video walk.

Design
You get a plan drawn to scale, a plant list with sourcing notes, a phased installation schedule, and a first-year care guide. Revisions are built into the fee.

Support
Once the design is in your hands, you decide who installs it. I stay available for questions, plant sourcing, and check-ins through the first growing season.
Questions people ask
Do you work outside the Hudson Valley?
Yes. In-person work is Hudson Valley and Litchfield County, Connecticut. Remote design is available anywhere in USDA zones 4 through 7.
What size properties do you take on?
From a quarter-acre suburban lot to properties over 100 acres.
How long does a project take?
A design takes four to eight weeks from site visit to final plan. Installation and establishment take a full growing season, sometimes two.
What does it cost?
A discovery session is a flat fee. Full design work is priced per project after the site visit, based on scope and scale. Ranges typically run from a few thousand to mid five figures.
Do you install the design yourself?
No. I design and I stay involved through installation. The physical work goes to a landscape crew you hire or one I refer you to.
